Geocache Description:

This is a unique date and it falls on a Saturday so it calls for doing something special.

New to seasoned cachers gathering to share in a picnic and their caching experiences......should be a fun time! Meet fellow cachers and get questions answered.

Join us from 12:00pm until 4:00pm (or later) at the picnic shelter for a geocacher's picnic and get together at the Town of Lisbon Community Park.

We're keeping things simple so please bring along your own beverages, utensils, plates, napkins.

**We'll start some charcoal before noon and keep the grills hot so bring along something to grill if you'd like. (How long will the grills be hot? Don't know. Depends on usage. )**

**Please bring a dish to pass**

In your "will attend" post please include the number of people who will attend and the category your dish to pass falls under (and what it is if you already know) to assist others in knowing what we could use more of:
Main Dish
Veggie Salad
Pasta Salad
Snack/Appetizer
Dessert

The park has 2 very nice covered charcoal grills next to the shelter so please feel free to bring something to grill.
There are several outlets, all of which be working.
Running water (drinking fountain and faucet) also available at the shelter.
Playground and toilets near shelter.

*****New Info posted 9/8/11 4:20pm*********************
Possible last minute addition........
We are trying to put together a temporary cache specifically for the kids but need an idea of how many kids are going to be there so there aren't any disappointed kiddos.
**In your will attend please include the number of kids that will be with you (along with total count).**
Some of you have posted how many kids will be along. If you will have kids along and haven't already noted it in your first note/will attend, could you please either post a NEW note with a kid count or send us a private message so we can attempt to have enough items? THANKS MUCH!
*******************************************************

We're working on getting some prizes donated to have a drawing after lunch. It's not required but try to find something geocaching, outdoor activity related, or something someone would like to win to donate for the raffle. You could even make a cache to donate. Prize drawings are always a fun part of any event.

Rumor has it there will be some new caches in the area and coordinates will be released at the picnic. How does a cool dozen sound?

We will also have a time set aside for Geocaching Q&A (watch for updates).
******UPDATE:
Mister Greenthumb will be available all afternoon to answer any questions that you may have on area caches, hiding caches or anything else geocaching related.

Each team needs to sign the log to claim their attendance.

Besides a picnic, this location has been chosen as you can do a little to a lot of caching while in the area.
There are several caches in this park and many within walking and biking distance; not to mention the numerous other caches and cache series in the area.
This park is adjacent to the Bugline Trail which goes from Merton to Menomonee Falls with caches all along the trail! The Bugline Recreation Trail is a 14-mile trail located on the former Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul, and Pacific Railroad right-of-way.
At present, it stretches between Appleton Ave (S.T.H 175) in Menomonee Falls and Main Street (C.T.H. VV) in the Village of Merton.
Bring your bikes or go for a walk. Here's a link where you can see the caches and length of the trail: (visit link)
And a few more links about the Bugline Trail: (visit link) (visit link) (visit link) (visit link)
The IAT, Ice Age Trail, and caches along it are also nearby.

There is a Piggly Wiggly and PickNSave in Sussex so you could stop in there for picnic things you need if you don't want to pack some things (or forgot). (For shopping needs there is also a Shopko and Walgreens in Sussex. Additionally, there are a variety of restaurants if you need something outside of picnic time.)

Our family has reserved the shelter for the full day (sunrise to sunset). You can stop in any time for some shade, water, or a place to rest.

There is a lot of parking available in front of the shelter (GZ) and even more down the hill from it. A further location also listed just in case.
Alternate parking coordinates listed below.
*****Please do NOT park on the grass*****
Park on paved areas only. Don't risk a ticket.

Looking forward to seeing you there!

****Watch this cache page for further updates.****

**As a special addition, we will also be acknowledging 9-10-11@12:13 with a quick group photo at that time**

THANKS to the following Sussex businesses for their support:
Piggly Wiggly
Pick N Save
North Shore Bank
George Webb
