Geocache Description:

Blagoveshensky Bridge is the first permanent bridge to connect Vasilievsky and Admiralteysky (Center) islands. The bridge has three other names (Nevsky, Nikolaevsky and of Lieutenant Schmidt) that were given to it in the past. According to the urban legend, Tsar Nicolas I promised to the main engineer, Kierbedz, to give him a promotion for every complete span. After hearing that, Kierbedz recalculated his project, and after the construction had a rank of a general, and the bridge consists of eight spans. Aurora, the symbol and one of the main heroes of the Russian Revolution stationed right next to the bridge when it fired its famous attack on the Winter Palace.

The cache, a magnetic micro contains only a log sheet, so please bring a pen

PLEASE place the cache back in the EXACT same way you found it. Thank you.

This bridge has two names- Blagoveshensky and Lieutenant Schmidt. Originally, I wasn’t planning on making two caches on one bridge, but at the irony of fate, my two caches with the two names of the bridge are now hidden on one bridge, and just like the two names, both of them get to stay with the bridge. Click here to go to Blagoveshensky Bridge.
