Tuoreet sähköiset silmän verkkokalvotestit (ERG) osoittavat, että poro näkee hyvin myös ultraviolettivalossa. Poro kykenee erottamaan sekä ravinnokseen käyttämän jäkälän että tummaturkkiset petoeläimet hyvin talvisessa lumimaisemassa ja kevään ja syksyn hämärässä.
Jäkälä ja sudet näkyvät poron silmässä mustina, koska molemmat imevät hyvin tehokkaasti ultraviolettia säteilyä.
Tarvitset poron näkökykyä alkupurkin löydettyäsi.
A lichen or a wolf?
The fresh electric retina tests of the eye (ERG) indicate that the reindeer sees well also in the ultraviolet light. The reindeer is able to separate both, the lichen and the dark wolves in the very winter snow landscape and the dark of spring and autumn.
The lichen and the wolves are seen black in the reindeer's eye because both absorb an ultraviolet radiation very effectively.
You'll need a pair of reindeer's eyes after finding the first cache.
