A major section of the Blue Diamond used the entire hiking only
portion of the current Sycamore Loop Trail. Other sections used
parts of the Axsom and Grubb trails of today. At the cache, the
Blue Diamond runs to Warren
Lake to the north (cache by Redhawk44p) and heads south across
the old road to Axsom Pond before heading west down a ridge into
the Axsom Branch Valley. The cache is also a useful point to use to
find the correct spur off Terrill Ridge that leads out to Sapling
Shelter Ridge.

Deam Hiking Map with Blue Diamond Trail added (corrections based
on hiking data coming soon):
Compare that map of the Blue Diamond Trail with the current
geocaching map and you'll see there are already several caches very
near the old trail. I didn't know it when I placed it but the trail
mentioned in the description of the
Woodland Throne cache is the Blue Diamond. That cache also sits
right on the BD Trail.
These blue diamond trail markers were found 30 foot apart buried
in the dirt in a small wash very near the cache coordinates. If you
see any others, anywhere in the forest, let us know about them with
a comment and the coordinates:
On the flat clearing above where the blue diamonds were found is
what seems to be an old homestead with remains of a rock-lined path
and huge trees as well as many other signs of the former
inhabitants. Many artifacts have found their way into the
streambeds heading downhill including a metal wheel, bricks, glass
bottles, crockery, a metal tub, and a hob-nailed shoe.

Cache is an ammo box with items that include a LED headlamp,
waterproof match case, glow light, poncho, and toys and tradables.
Also in the cache is a Jeep 4x4 travel bug that has been stalled
out for too long. Please help it move along.
Congrats to monstercatambush and Ponce De Geone for the FTF.
Both of them have placed alot of great caches out in these woods so
it's nice to see them get the FTF.
