Geocache Description:

This is the past home of Marengo's Washington School.

The first school house was built at this location in 1841. Later in 1883, Washington School was built on this site. It was designed by Louis Sullivan of the Adler and Sullivan firm. It was a K-12 school until 1925. It served as a K-3 school until it closed in 1985. In 1993, it was torn down and replaced with the restaurant that exists on the site today.

As you log this cache, please note if you attended this school. Please bring your own pen or pencil.
