Goette Road Bridge
Built 1878 by the Chicago & Northwestern Railroad
also known as bridge 344
Geocache keeps getting stolen- But its a nice bridge to come see.
A rock-faced, sandstone arch bridge with a single arch that springs 2 feet above grade and rises 12 feet over a span of 24 feet. There are step-staired wing walls on both sides. The elongated keystone is 2 feet in height. It is Wisconsin's earliest known single-vault, stone-arch railroad bridge. (The oldest stone arch bridge in the state is the Tiffany Stone Bridge in Turtle, Wisconsin.)
Dimensions
Span length: 41.0 ft.
Total length: 41.0 ft.
Deck width: 36 ft.
This is our first hide we hope you enjoy.
It is not in the campground next door. Just off of the road on the NE side, no climbing needed and it is not on the bridge. Please be careful it is a one lane bridge, Although traffic is minimal. Parking is best on the west side. You can also access on Halweg rd.
