Geocache Description:

Located at the cutoff to Alligator Lake.

I am glad to adopt this cache to keep it alive. As a family, we camp in the Uintas every year and have enjoyed finding the caches here. Thanks to 26point2 and his troop for the original placement. (Original Name "Campout Cache 8-11 Alligator Lake") Renamed 7/30/14

Troop 1611 placed this cache in commemoration of our campout at Alligator Lake. Its located about 30 to 40 feet off the Alligator Lake trail. Most people don't know about Alligator Lake. Its a nice 3 mile hike from the trailhead. The last 1/4 to 1/2 mile after the cutoff is a little steep, but not bad. Its a beautiful lake with wonderful camp sites, but most people pass right by on their way to Dollar Lake, Painter Basin or King's Peak.

Depending on the snow depth, this cache will likely only be available from mid June to mid October (if you're lucky).

Its a medium sized plastic cookware, so should be water tight. Please replace the branches as cover just like you found it.

Initial swag includes a couple of Boy Scout patches and pins, a couple of unactivated Wood Badge geocoins and a whole bunch of flashlights for your camping survival needs along with some other cool stuff. Enjoy!
