Geocache Description:

Finding this geocache takes you up an old mining road to a ridge overlooking the old Ruffner Mine working. There are ruins and old mine working to see along the way. The view from the ridge top is stunning - overlooking the MacDonald lakes to the north and Atlin lake to the west.

The Ruffner Mine was in operation and-and-off from about 1916 to 1981. If you keep your eyes open, you can spot ruins of buildings, old mine adits (be careful if you try to enter any of them), and abandoned tailings. Primary metals: Silver, Lead, Zinc, Gold, Copper, Cadmium, Molybdenum, Tin

The Ruffner Mine road is a bit rough - in the fall of 2011, we made it up in a Sienna minivan. Parking is at 59d44.020'N 133d31.989'W. From this point, the road forks multiple times - you'll have to figure out which way to go... Google maps does not show all the roads - indeed the roads shown (fall 2011) are incorrectly mapped :)
