This is a reguler sized lock&lock with a FTF prize and tradable items. I hope you enjoy the series.
This series was placed to tell the history, show the beauty, as well as to break up the trip along Highway 4 going to the West Coast. All of the caches are placed on the right hand side of the road, so you do not have to cross the highway, as you head west towards Tofino/Ucluelet. The caches are well off the road and there are safe pullouts at each location. Please give drivers behind you plenty of notice when you are getting close to turning off the highway. There is also plenty of visibility for when you are pulling back out on the road. The entire road to the West Coast is bear and cougar country so please by vigilant.
I chose this spot as it is right across from what remains of the historic West Bay Hotel. It was the last spot to rest for tired or hungry travelers heading west. The old highway passed in front of the West Bay Hotel and continued out Lake Shore Rd. until it met Tilly Rd. where it connected with what is now the present Highway.
