Geocache Description:

One in a series of caches memorializing the men dieing in a crash of a C-121G (Lockheed Super Constellation) aircraft in this location in 1959.

These six caches are dedicated to the crew of a Navy C-121G (Super Constellation) military transport aircraft that crashed in this area on February 28, 1959. As of the date of publication, a memorial is being constructed at the site of the crash on the City of Prescott's "Constellation Trails", thanks to the work of local Boy Scout Cody Walker.

Small pieces of the aircraft's fuselage can be found on the site.

The crew of the C-121G, which was a military version of the Lockheed Constellation aircraft, a popular civilian airliner of the time, was on a training mission from Moffet Field in California to the Phoenix-area Litchfield Naval Air Facility.

The crew included Commander Lukas Dachs, Lt. Theodore Rivenburg, Lt. Edward Francis Sousa, Engineer James Miller, and Flight Engineer Calvin Coons.

The information is attributed to and courtesy of the Prescott Daily Courier.
