Enjoy a hike on a newly created trail that skirts the edges of the old Mathy quarry in places. You'll find yourself high above the surrounding landscape, the trail becoming more narrow toward the end. Enjoy the scenery in this landscape that is being protected from development and allowed to slowly return what was nature's back to her. In the wintertime with abundant snow, this is a great snowshoe hike. In any season, it's worth the effort to enjoy this land which is available for the enjoyment of all.
Be sure to approach from the parking coordinates on top of the bluff, following the trail from the gate at the left. If you try to approach from County Highway B, you will be crossing a segment of privately owned land, thus tresspassing.
Permission for placement of geocaches on this MVC owned land is graciously granted by Tim Jacobson, Executive Director, Mississippi Valley Conservancy. Thank you.
