Crossroads of Southeast Missouri Traditional Geocache
LatonkaGal: I was debating archiving this cache, and then it was replaced by someone as a throwdown. This has inspired me to go ahead an archive this cache. I really don't know why someone felt the need to go after a disabled cache and place a throwdown, but they did not FIND the cache so I have removed their logs and I am going ahead and archiving the cache.

This cache overlooks the intersection of two of the major roads in the area. The nearby Welcome to Dexter sign now proclaims our pride in the 1221st Transportation Unit of the National Guard, but when I was younger it read "The Crossroads of Southeast Missouri," and I always loved seeing that sign overlooking this intersection.
Do NOT park on the exit ramp or the shoulders of the highway. Use the outer road to approach the cache. The entrance to the outer road is quite a bit south of the intersection, so I have provided an additional waypoint.
If you are into the "Worldwide Challenges" and are looking for a lighthouse for the one named "Picture a Sailor's Saving Sign," you've got a great shot of a landlocked lighthouse from this cache site!
