Geocache Description:

This geocache is placed on private property, in obtaining permission, the business has requested that it be found during daylight hours only.

Your quest for this geocache will take you to a Waukesha business that placed a key role in the rescue of the trapped miners in Chile in 2010. It was their bole hole camera that brought the world the photos showing that all 33 miners were alive below ground. Pretty neat that a Made in Wisconsin product played a key role a world away!

Formerly, this building housed the Waukesha Pure Food Company (1916-1919) which created the original Jiffy Jell product. Jiffy Jell was the start of the current day Gelatin products.

If you would like to see part of the camera used at the mining site or the original Jiffy Jell molds, stop back during business hours and check out the display in their lobby.

Permission for this hide granted by Jeff Langton of Aries Industries on 1/11/12. This cache was hidden for the 2012 Waukesha Winter Janboree Geocaching event.
