The north side of Lowes Creek is Eau Claire County land, held in reserve for future development. Some think this area along the freeway would be ideal spot for a future Eau Claire Expo Center. Opponents of the downtown jail, argued that the County could have used this land to build the new jail, instead of acquiring expensive homes downtown.
The county has not cleaned up the area since acquiring it, and I found a lot of interesting junk in this part of the woods.

I am not sure what kind of car that is, but here is a pic of a 1937 Ford Slantback, which looks pretty much alike in design.
