A traditional cache in an elevated location with stunning views of the North Norfolk coastline.
This is Shannock's third cache on hills overlooking Sheringham. (The others are "On the Hump" and "Hook's Hill"). Please enjoy the views from the top of Skelding Hill while you are there - that is the main reason for placing this cache. I suggest you park at the Leas, near the boating lake, about a quarter of a mile to the east, and walk up the hill to the cache site. There is a Coastwatch hut on top of the hill, where volunteers watch the coastline for shipping and any incidents, but the hiding place is out of view of the hut. There is a seat near the cache site, so you may have to wait for geo-muggles to move on a busy day in the summer, but it is usually too windy for anyone to stay there too long! Be warned, you will have a close encounter with a bush, so don't wear your Sunday best!
