Hoapsa is a 600-year-old famous traditional temple which is located at Mt. Samsung in southern Seoul.
In ancient times Mt. Samsung was known as “Tiger rock mountain”, because Hoap(虎壓, literally "oppressing tiger") Temple was built on this mountain it was thought that it would protect the residents of Seoul from the tigers that lived in the mountains.
호압사는 600년 전에 세워진 고찰이다. 호압(虎壓)이란 호랑이를 누른다는 뜻으로, 원래 삼성산이 호랑이바위산(호암산)이라고도 하는데, 이 호랑이 기운을 막아준다는 뜻이다.

For many generations, a famous story about Hoap Temple has been told. The story involves the founder of the temple hiding a cache of gold and gems near the temple. It was said that the location of the treasure was recorded in one of the many books that are stored in the temple.
So far many people have tried to find the monk’s riches. All have been unsuccessful, recently what many people believe to be a hint was found in a dusty book in the back shelf of a book cases. Here is that clue. Perhaps if we could translate the meaning we could discover the treasure.
전설에 따르면 이 절 인근에 아주 귀중한 보물이 묻혀져 있다고 한다. 이 보물을 찾기 위해서는 이 절에 전해져 오는 수많은 고서들 중의 한권에서 단서를 찾아야 한다.
많은 사람들이 도전을 했지만, 아직까지 그 보물은 발견되지 않았다. 다만, 다음의 글귀 속에 위치가 숨겨져 있을 것이라고 한다.
