Battleship is a game that has been around for awhile and has taken form on paper and pencil and the internet.
I recall versions with plastic pegboards and red and white pegs. There was strategy in placing the ships to fool your opponent. As the game went back and forth you slowly learned about your enemy. In some case you learned more about your opponent's strategy in ship placement if you missed as opposed to a direct hit.
The game below is in progress but in the end someone will yell in defeat, "You sank my battleship!"
