Wood Carving is another one of my many hobbies. During the winter
months when the snow is deep and it's cold outside. I like to take
a square piece of wood and see what I can carve out of it. The most
popular types of wood to carve is Basswood and Walnut. Basswood is
easiest of all the woods to carve. And it can be finished in the
most different ways. But usually the whittling marks left exposed
and it's either painted or stained. Walnut looks the best sanded
and varnished. Showing all it's natural color and wood grain. These
are just some of my favorite pieces.
