I'm a bit nostalgic for comedy movies of the 80's. When the Blues Brothers came out, I roared with the rest of the packed movie theater watching Jake and Elwood try to save the St. Helen of the Blessed Shroud Orphanage . Growing up in the Chicago area, many of the location shots in the movie were familiar to me and made the movie that much more special.
My caching buddy, BigBrotherBear loves getting out into the woods to find geocaches. He also loves movies. I thought this combination would make a perfect cache for him.
I don't know if the answers to these questions are on the internet, or if you'll have to just sit down and watch the movie, but the answers to these questions aren't too tough. Here's what you need:
For the Latitude, it's a bit tricky. To find the last three digits of the true latitude, find out the 3-digit number on the license plate of the Blues Mobile.
Subtract from that number, the following: The number of members of "Murph and the Magictones."
The number of chickens that Jake orders along with a Coke.
The number of miles that Elwood announces they have to drive when the money for the orphanage is secured (It's dark and we're wearing sunglasses speech).
The number of the police car that John Candy's character is in when he announces over the radio, "We're in a truck!"
For the Longitude, consider W 090 39.ABC.
At the beginning of the movie, Elwood proves to Jake that the new Blues Mobile (an old cop car) is worthy of the pair by jumping the span of a bridge. There is a shot in the movie of the plaque on that bridge. What is the year on that plaque? BDCA.

So, pop some corn, grab a soda, watch a classic comedy. Then, head out for a great hike and find a fun cache. Best of luck, everybody!
