This was the first virtual cache placed in the cemetery. At that time it cost $1.25 to park and it could be done in less than an hour. As of June 2009, the fee is $1.75/hr. With several caches here now it may require 2-3 hours to complete them all.
Both of the locations are not obscure and should be fairly obvious, the second of much lesser fame.
Once you arrive at the listed coordinates answer these questions to receive the coords for part 2:
a) How many headstones are there?
b) How many quotations are engraved in the opposing semi-circular stones?
Armed with these answers subtract .0a2" from the listed latitude and add 3 * .0b0" to the listed longitude.
Where a = the answer the part a and b = the answer to part b. For example if a=1 and b=4 then subtract .012 minutes lat and add .120 ( same as .12 for purposes here) minutes long to create new coords of N38 52.881 W077 04.406.
The coordinates for Part 2 direct you to another memorial which is much newer. Since the coordinates will get you in the vicinity and there are other possibilities, I'll give one clue: Look for 270 red stones.
To validate your visit, e-mail me the the name of the second monument and the first person listed (last name only is OK) in alphabetical order of those to whom it is dedicated. Don't post your answers here, even if encrypted.
You should be able to complete this one fairly easily, but it's a hike to visit all of the caches that are now placed here in one visit - bring your walking shoes if you do!
Lots of other sites to see here, great views but very solemn.
