Church Micro IE caches, based on the Church Micro series by sadexploration in the UK, are designed to be reasonably quick but interesting caches linked, unsurprisingly, to churches of any denomination. All other buildings are liable to be changed, demolished or ruined, but churches in general can survive basically unchanged for hundreds of years.
St Mary's Church, Star of the Sea in Sandymount was opened in 1852. Built in a gothic style, the church and grounds stand adjacent to Sandymount strand. for more information on the history of the church see http://www.news4.ie/christmas1999/frame3/28.htm
Location
There is parking available immediately adjacent to the cache site. Bus routes stopping near to the cache site include 2, 3, 18. Landsdowne Dart station is the closest to the cache site. Sandymount village is close by and has a number of shops, cafe's etc. The cache should be easily accessible by wheelchair. The area can be busy at times, especially with the local school kids after school, so please be aware of muggles.
The Cache
The cache is a magnetic micro container. You may require a tweezers etc to extract the log, but not if it is replaced carefully by the previous finder! Bring your own pen. Please hide the cache back exactly where you have found it.
