Adopt-a Bear Cove Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Wizard of Ooze: Hello,
I’m a volunteer reviewer for geocaching.com. In a routine check of area caches, I see that your cache has been missing for an extended period of time. The geocaching guidelines include a section on disabled caches: http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#cachemaintenance

You are responsible for occasional visits to your cache to ensure it is in proper working order, especially when someone reports a problem with the cache (missing, damaged, wet, etc.), or posts a Needs Maintenance log. Temporarily disable your cache to let others know not to search for it until you have addressed the problem. You are permitted a reasonable amount of time – generally up to 4 weeks – in which to check on your cache. If a cache is not being maintained, or has been temporarily disabled for an unreasonable length of time, we may archive the listing. If you decide not to replace a missing cache, please archive the listing.

I’ve archived your listing to make way for new, active caches to be placed. If you would like to resubmit a new cache at the location, please feel free to do so and it will be reviewed according to the current geocaching guidelines.

Thank you for your contribution to geocaching,

Geocache Description:

Bear Cove cache had been archived and we have taken over the cache container and location. All info from previous cache is still there including original log book and any treasures left.

Embarkation point, for northbound travel bugs

I built and hid this cache specifically for travel bugs. I have found that travel bugs travel north until they get to one of the more obscure caches in the area and then stop there, seemingly forever. This cache is within easy walking distance of the "Prince Rupert" ferry. This ferry travels for 18 hours north almost to the Alaska border. So if you are in line for the ferry and have 20-30 minutes to kill this is the perfect activity. Also this cache is perfect for north bound (and for that matter southbound) travel bugs as mostly the traffic that goes by it is bound for Prince Rupert or south towards Victoria.. All travel bugs that are destined for Alaska should head towards this geocache.. The only items in this cache are a log book, a pencil and a pencil sharpener.., the container is a good size coffee container, sufficient room for average travel bugs... The encrypted portion is a dead give-away
