Geocache Description:

The cache is NOT at the above coordinates.  This is a mystery/puzzle cache.  Please read on to discover the actual coordinates.

A few months back I found myself out on a hike on the beautiful Santa Margarita trail with Calipers and Peter Kraatz. I had been on the trail before but had come back to grab a few puzzle caches that I had passed on during the previous trip. As we made our way down the trail I found myself speculating out loud on what my family’s destination for our annual summer road trip might be this year. We have always looked forward to our annual road trip and I lamented that there are just so many places to choose from.

Pete and Chris were very helpful with their suggestions.

Pete said that since we had enjoyed our first ever trip to a National Park last year so why not try another National Park this year? Crater Lake is very unique in that is has no tributaries and is home to some of the clearest, purest water in all of North America

Chris added you could try the historical home/studio of Augustus Saint-Gaudens. In addition to the lessons in sculpture the location has some really nice hiking trails

Chris continued as long as you are in the area you could spend Independence Day in the most historic town of the revolution, Boston. You will never forget a 4th of July trip to Boston

Pete added before heading back west you should take a side trip to Fort Sumter National Monument. You can't beat it for Civil War historical significance

Pete also said another possibility is Fenwick Island Lighthouse on Fenwick Island. It is a well-known piece of maritime history that you should not pass up

They both said if you're taking the whole tribe cross-country, New York City is the place to go. It’s the greatest city in the world!

If you really want a taste of some Civil war history then be sure to visit Antietam National Battlefield. It is the site where the courageous American army drove back General Lee’s invaders

Hey you like eco destinations don’t you? Ever heard of George Perkins Marsh? He is only America's original environmentalist. You should check out Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park

Being that you are such a fan of impressionism you should stop by the Weir Farm National Historic Site. It was home to America’s premiere impressionist painter Julian Alden Weir

For some revolutionary history you can’t miss with a visit to Cowpens National Battlefield. Without a doubt the Battle of Cowpens was Morgan’s most impressive victory of the entire Revolutionary War

And before heading home be sure to visit Hillsborough, the childhood home of your third most favorite U.S. President, Franklin Pierce

I thanked them for their input “All those destinations so wonderful but let’s get back on the trail. We have a puzzle cache to find”.
