Pelverata Falls Traditional Cache

This cache is hidden near to the top of Pelverata Falls. With the correct vehicle you can drive to within a few metres of the cache, but most of us will need to park further back down the hill and walk some distance. There are a lot of very large puddles and muddy holes along this trail that will remain even during the drier months.
The easiest way to get to GZ is to follow Van Morey's Road from Margate. After about 10km there is a small parking area. The road to here is pretty good for the first 7.5km. There is a boom gate after the parking area which is where you may need to leave your car if it is not a "proper" 4WD.
Half a kilometre from the parking area there are tracks leading off to both the left and right. Ignore these and continue straight ahead.
2.2km from the start you will pass the turn off to your left which takes you out to Grey Mountain. Again continue straight ahead. 3.0kms from the start you will come out to an old sawmill site on your left. Continue straight ahead here too.
Just past the sawmill site (3.2km) you'll come to a Y junction. Take the right fork and cross the creek and start heading up the hill on the other side.
At 4.6km past the parking area there is an obvious turn-off to the right. Turn right and follow the track (ignoring the turn off to the left 100 metres further along) all the way to Pelverata Falls (6km).
You can get good views out over the falls from the end of the car park, or follow the foot track down to the top of the falls. The cache is hidden at the very top carpark near to the top of the falls.
Note that there is also a walking trail that will take you to a viewing platform below the falls. You will be able to see this platform from the area near to GZ.
Danger: Please be careful - there are large cliff drops in the area near to GZ.
