Travel to this cache may be difficult for some. For the rest of you, this is a great location to take in the beautiful scenery of Kearny.
Find your way across the Gila River to reach this cache. You'll have to go on a short hike up to the top of this small peak. The cache is loaded with a few survival items along with the usual stuff. A reward goes to the first to find!
I traveled through the desert from Kearny Lake and Campground. I waded across the Gila River and sliced my way through some palo verde trees to hike up to the top of the peak. If you're not feeling as adventurous as me, you can reach the cache by traveling north on Camino Rio Road from Winkelman (if you're traveling up from the Tucson area) or south from Riverside off of highway 177. Look at a satellite map of the area to find the trail located southeast of the cache at the base of the smaller peaks. Watch out for barbed wire and the usual critters!
