Geocache Description:

The park is open 8:00am to dusk daily. Bring trading swag.

You've seen them elsewhere. Signs that say "Keep Off The Grass" or "Don't Touch The Flowers". Haven't you wished for a beautiful garden that you can actually touch, smell and enjoy? It's here. Welcome to Fragrance Garden, one of the secret treasures of Whatcom County.

Maintained by a posse of local gardening experts, the award-winning Fragrance Garden was designed to be an interactive garden where visitors are encouraged to gently feel the texture of the plant, breath in the various aromas, smell not only the flowers but the various herbs and over 200 plants located herein. Sage, Rosemary, Thyme, Carnations, stop and smell the flowers and spices! The beds are raised so as to be wheelchair accessible, and they have a unique Braille system that provides plant identification to the blind. (To get the full experience, schedule a tour with the Fragrance Gardener.)

After enjoying Fragrance Garden, meander through the Tennant Lake Interpretative Center if it's open. Be prepared to wonder, learn and be fascinated. And your next stop should be the nearby Observation Tower, with its own BASE jumping academy, hot air ballooning, and panoramic views of Mount Baker and Tennant Lake. And a geocache. Add in the Tennant Lake Boardwalk, and the combination is simply spectacular. You'll be humming, "What a day!"
