Geocache Description:

From the cache location you will be able to view the current reigning Wisconsin Champion American Elm Tree. It is located to the east of the cache. You must take a close look at it after signing the log in order to appreciate the size of this tree.

The Wisconsin DNR keeps a list of the largest trees of each species, called "Wisconsin Champion Trees". Criteria for entry is based on a formula that includes circumference, height and crown spread.
