This cache has been placed in the same location as one placed here by CCCooperAgency in July of 2002 and archived in April of 2005. It was called Over The River & Through The Woods and was one of the first hiking caches I found. I am placing this cache here to acknowledge CCCooperAgency's past geocaching accomplishments and contributions to our "sport". Besides using her cache site, I have also incorporated the same hint as she provided in her original posting. I hope you enjoy the hunt.
This cache is hidden along the Buck Ridge Trail in the Michaux State Forest. It is a comfortable 3/4-mile hike from the trailhead along PA State Rte. 233 in Pine Grove Furnace State Park to the cache site. The hike is a pleasant one through mixed hardwood and evergreen forest. If you go at the right time of the year (mid-May), you will get to see the beautiful state flower, Mountain Laurel, in full bloom. If you go after the Autumn leaves have fallen or there is snow cover, be prepared for a more difficult hunt.
CAUTION: Use great care while walking along the paved highway to and from the trailhead, especially with young children. Also, for your safety during major hunting seasons, wear Blaze Orange.
