Geocache Description:

The Path of life. The old canal who was transfering the water of Kosynthos river to the water reservoir for filtering and cleaning before the distribution in Xanthi's city water pipes. You can follow the path and you can see the old reservoir, which is now an art area, you can walk on and into the small cement canal and you can reach the old Damm where you can admire a wonderful nature and search  for the cache. Good Luck.

The cache trail starts form the parking lot where the "Path of Life" begins. But I have started the trail from the Kosynthos river bridge (about 300m away) to help you avoid any confusion into the narrow streets of Xanthis Old City. So there is a parking lot in front of path's entrance. Leave your car there and keep walking. Of cource after finishing the cache hunting I ABSOLUTELY recoment a walk in the narrow streets of the Old town. You can find some beaufitul samples of before 200 years architecture and anoter way  of living.

For the cache now you can follow the "Path of Life" which it will take you to the old Damm. On the way  you can see the old reservoir which is an art area now (something like an opened modern art museum), you can walk on the covered part of the canal which was transfering the water to the reservoir, you will also walk into the canal (to the opened and destroyed in our days part), you will reach the river's level and walk across the river (so if it a hot day you can wet yourself with the clear river water). Be aware because in some parts the canal is destroyed and you would need to walk on the rocks and this might be little bit difficult (hmmm maybe not). You will finalize the hike in about 50 meters distance from the old Damm. If you search around, in your head's height,  you might recognize some places that the cashe might be. Some cracking rocks, some ground holes, some tree routes. Who knows, the cache migh be somewhere very close.

The original cache was a green bucket but it seems it was dekoyed by a fluid in winter 2013. So on 25/03/2013 I restored the cache into the same place but this time I used a smaller container to protect the cach from a future fluid. The container is a small tubular box like a film canister, which I have painted green. There is a sticker with the cordinates on it. Please check the newest photos to avoid searching for a bigger cache.

Welcome to the "Path of Life" . I really hope you have enjoyed the "trip" and found it as beautiful as I always do. Best regards from baxygr . Happy hunting --------------------------ATTENTION---------------------------------------------- In order to be a "Happy Hunting" please take in consideration the following. a) In case of heavy rain in the previous days the cach might not be accesible. It worths a try though to walk on th path and on the river level. You decide to proceed or not. b) Keep your eyes on the slipery and mooving rock on the ground. In some perts you need to step on them so be careful. It is not difficult to go to the cach point but you might need hiking skills to some part of the route. c) Keep your eyes on the rocks above your head level to the river side. If you think they are unstable its better not to seek for the cache. It worths the hike thought enjoing the safest part of the path.d) Due to the last maintenance i saw the trail was dammaged. It is still accesible though. Please be carefull while walking on the rocks. E) Although I corrected the cordinates, the map on the geocaching page is still showing tne cache in the left bank of the river when looking the dam. This is wrong. The cache is to the right bank across the "path of life". Plese check the "route map" photo. f) Taking all the precaution and enjoy the Path of Life.
