Geocache Description:

This cache is on the tiny "Bug island," but it joins the rest of Mayne at any low tide.

The cache is best accessed by boat; its possible to launch a small boat or canoe from the trail to the beach at Campbell bay or the larger boat ramp at David Cove.  There is also a great public acces trail along the South side of Edith Point.  From this trail, it's possible scramble steeply down to the Western tip of Bug island.  Be very carefull if you choose this route, as there are many dangerous cliffs.  There is no marked trail from the Edith Point trail down to Bug island.

Edith point is private land that has been generously opened to the public for hiking, although no powered vehicles are allowed. Please be gentle with the flora and fauna and pack out any garbage you bring with you. Do not not walk through the property directly surrounding the landowner's home at the far end of the point.
