Belgrade Fortress is the core and the oldest section of the urban area of Belgrade and for centuries the city population was concentrated only within the walls of the fortress, thus the history of the fortress, until most recent history, equals the history of Belgrade itself. It becomes a park and cultural and historical center at the end of 19th century. Today we can find here many interesting features: museums, zoo, sports facilities, restaurants and plenty of space for walking and relaxing. Almost every tourist who comes to Belgrade, visit the Fortress.
