San Fruttuoso: Lets rock!
San Fruttuso is a beautiful little village with a fantastic abbey (8th century) that you have to visit. And it’s a very nice place to snorkel. The water is very clear and there are lot’s of colorful fishes. San Fruttuoso is best reached by boat. But beware. The seas can be quite rough around here.
The cache
San Fruttuoso already had nice cashes, but until now no “park and grab” an absolute must for the cachers that lack time to cache. In this case “park” applies to the boats … It’s incredible that ferries can board this rocky harbor here. This requires skilled captains. Find this cache and show you can also conquer this rocky harbor.
The cache is a Tupperware container with a blue lid. It contains a logsheet. The cache is hidden in one of the regular holes of the wall, behind some stones. Take care not to give away the hiding place and out the cache back the way you found (or better if it was visible from the outside). The best time to look for the cache is when the ferries have left the harbor. Otherwise the people on deck (including the captain) can follow every move. The crewmember behind the table, assisting the ferries, is usually minding his own business. Usually. And in case somebody asks questions: the rocks here contain a special kind of fossils. Possibly …
Keep in mind this is a T4 and “grabbing” the cache requires a bit of climbing. Rock climbing more specifically. But only a couple of meters. You don’t need special gear or skills. I think …
Happy caching!
