Geocache Description:

Bonjour! Café au lait! Croissant! Thé!

Oui, oui, this cache is French-themed for your exploring pleasure.  This famous French-born explorer has a namesake building in the heart of the Loop. The architectural masterpiece was one of the early steel frame skyscrapers of its day. The building originally had a reddish, terra cotta exterior that is now somewhat blackened due to decades of Loop soot. It is noted both for its then cutting edge frame and its ornate interior. The interior of the building is a hidden gem filled with mosaics, sculptures and bronze.

Since being built, the building has received numerous awards and honors. It has been designated a Chicago Landmark, a National Historic Landmark and was added to the National Register of Historic Places on August 17, 1973.

The coordinates lead you to this historic Chicago building. Our cache is caché (hidden) along the perimeter. Bonne chance!
