Usein kätköillessä ulkomailla huomaa, että maan kätkökulttuuri on erityinen. Purkit ovat tietyntyyppisiä, tai tietynlaisia kätköjä suositaan. Joskus jopa kätköjen luokitukset eroavat radikaalisti. On opettavaista tutustua eri maiden kätkökulttuureihin ja oppia niistä omia kätköjä tehdessään. Huonona puolena vain on, että täytyy matkustaa. Mutta ei hätää, tämä kätkösarja esittelee sinulle eri maiden kätköilykulttuureja koto-Suomessa. Tämä kätkö
Kätkö ei ole kovin erikoinen, mutta esittelee perinteisen unkarilaisen piilotustavan ja kätköpurkkityypin. Lisäksi kätkö tarjoaa semi-hyvät maisemat katseltavaksi sekä, jos satut kävelemään annetulta parkkipaikalta purkille, niin näet Tampereen piispantalon vasemmalla puolellasi (riippuen tietysti valitsemastasi reitistä).

Liikenne kätköpaikalla on vilkasta, joten ole varovainen, äläkä mene kätkön tuntumaan, jos väkeä on lähistöllä. Pituudesta on kätköä hakiessa hyötyä ja terrain voi pituudesta riippuen vähän vaihdella.

Tampereen piispantalo

Kun piispanistuin siirrettiin vuonna 1923 Porvoosta Tampereelle, syntyi tarve löytää paikka piispantalolle. Tampereen kaupunki valikoi paikan Pyynikintie 9:stä. Tontti oli luonnon keskellä ja rauhallisella paikalla sivussa ydinkeskustasta.

Tampereen piispantalo rakennettiin vuoden 1937 aikana. Rakennuksen piirrustukset laati pyynnöstä rakennushallituksen ylijohtaja, arkkitehti Gunnar Wahlroos (1890-1942). Rakennus vihittiin käyttöön 2.6. 1938. Wahlroosin arkkitehtuuri oli juuri 1930-luvulla muuttunut klassismista kohti funktionalismia ja tämä uusi näkemys tuleekin Tampereen piispantalossa hyvin esiin. Gunnar Wahlroosin muita tunnettuja töitä ovat Turun Martin kirkko ja Jyväskylän Schaumanin linna. Wahlroosille ominainen klassistinen koristelu näkyy myös muuten funktionalistisen talon julkisivun yksityiskohdissa, kuten kaariaiheisissa ovissa ja ikkunoissa.

Piispantalon yläkerrassa on piispan yksityisasunto. Alakerrasta löytyvät piispan edustustilat, työhuone, kirjasto ja kappeli. Talon seinämaalaukset toteutti Wahlroosin sisko, taiteilija Anna Huss-Wahlroos. Piispantalon krusifiksi on Oberammergaun mestareiden työtä. Piispa Aleksi Lehtosen (piispa 1934-1945) valitsema krusifiksi saatiin lahjaksi Saksasta.

Cache Culture - Green preform, Hungary

When caching abroad you will often discover that the cache culture differs from your home country. Geocaches are of certain type, or certain types of caches are favored. Sometimes even the cache ratings differ radically. It is educative to explore the cache cultures of different countries and learn from them when hiding your own caches. The only downside is that you need to travel. But do not worry, this series introduces you to the cache cultures in different countries here in Finland. Please note that this series of caches are based on views of cache cultures by couple of geocachers.

This cache

This cache is not so special one, but introduces Hungarian hiding style and typical container type in Hungary. In addition, there is semi-good views from the cache location over the lake Pyhäjärvi and if you happen to walk to the cache from the given park coordinates, you will see Tampere's bishop's house on your left hand side (of course it depends on the route you chose).

Traffic might be quite heavy at the cache location, so be careful and don't go to the vicinity of the cache if there are muggles nearby. It is beneficial to be tall or take tall friend with you to the cache. Otherwise, the terrain rating might be higher.

Tampere's bishop's house

When bishopric was moved from Porvoo to Tampere in 1923, there emerged a need to find a place for bishop's house. City of Tampere pointed out a plot of land from Pyynikintie 9. Plot was in the middle of nature and in a quiet neighbourhood aside from the city center.

Bishop's house was built during the year 1937. The house was designed by Gunnar Wahlroos (1890-1942) and was taken in use 2.6. 1938. Other well-known works of Gunnar Walhroos are Martin's Church in Turku and Schauman's castle in Jyväskylä. Classicistic ornamentation, peculiar to Wahlroos' design, can be seen in the details (such as arc doors and windows) in the facade of bishop's house.

In upstairs of bishop's house, there is a residence of Tampere's bishop. Premises for social receptions, workroom, private library and chappel are located in downstairs. Murals of the house was painted by designer Walhroos' sister, Anna Huss-Wahlroos.
