Geocache Description:

Welcome to the Geocaching Proving Ground (GPG) brought to you by the Harford County Geocaching Posse (HCGP). This park has been set up to provide cachers both new and experienced a unique geocaching adventure. Throughout the GPG, the HCGP has placed 13 caches of various types, sizes, terrain and difficulty offering a variety of challenges. When appropriate, cache descriptions will educate/inform new cachers providing knowledge/details of the sport. Enjoy!

For security reasons, nine of the GPG’s 13 caches are premiums (require premium Geocacing.com account). In order to make the most of the GPG we will need your input so tell us about your experience at the GPG, as well as any ideas that you have that might improve the overall experience for other geocachers. From time to time we will archive older caches so that new caches can be emplaced; so check back periodically. And remember, please obey all park rules, to include no caching after hours and no parking along Route 136 or Cedar Lane to obtain and caches.

Aloha! In the Hawaiian language means affection, peace, compassion and mercy. Since the middle of the 19th century, it also has come to be used as an English greeting to say both goodbye and hello.

However, this isn’t Hawaii. This is the Geocaching Proving Ground baby!! …so welcome!

The cache you are seeking is one of the most common (and most annoying) you will find in geocaching; the dreaded nano. Nanos are popular (especially in urban areas) due to their size, being magnetic, and blending into their environment well. Their log sheet is the smallest around and wound up very tightly to fit in its container. Some have a small metal rod that, when contacted by the nano’s magnet, will assist the geocacher in removing the log from the container’s cap. Be sure to wrap the log tightly before placing it back in the log’s cap. This cache is hidden in a location that you would find in many urban areas. Please make sure you return it to the exact location where found.

The park is open sunrise to sunset. On certain days the park gates may be closed to vehicles however parking is offered just outside the vehicle gates with a pedestrian access for walkers/joggers. The cache is located within the confines of the park. Please observe the park rules and do not attempt this cache by parking on either Cedar Lane or Route 136 or climbing any fences.

Good luck and good hunting!
