After a soccer game in Belleville we decided to take another family bike ride through the tunnel and decided this time to keep going. It has been a good two plus years since we were this far down the trail and wanted to place another cache nearby.
Construction ran from December 1886 thru January 1888.
Length of Tunnel: 1280 Feet
Width: 14 Feet Height: 21 Feet
First Train: Engine #99 on Feb 1, 1888 ran from Freeport to Madison
