Geocache Description:

A well-concealed soda tube at gound zero holds the log. Bring your own pen! George Washington waits for the FTF.

These enormous oaks on the south side of this road used to have matching brothers and sisters on the other side of the street. I remember when I was younger-- driving to my grandmother's house in the Heights and traveling through the `Tree Tunnel' on Clay Rd. And now? Aahhh, progress. Half of the tunnel was leveled somewhen around 2001-2002 to make way for the newer spiffier 4-lane Clay Rd. These trees around ground zero are all that remain of that beautiful place. Another point of interest in the area would be the fencing and old structure remnants visible from GZ to the south. When the weather gets a little cooler I may have to wander back there again and get a closer look. My friend and I found another windmill, antique bottles, and ancient car parts. Using G.E.'s historical imagery, I see that the structures were there back in 1944, and the property lines are visible all the way up through 1995. So there's a good chance some of those oaks are centennials if not older.
Unfortunately, with greater traffic though the area comes costs other than the loss of stately trees. Please respect the marker at ground zero. I wish I could read the Latin/Italian or whatever the language written on it is, it probably gives some insight other than the broken English on the placard. The marker looked a little `lonely' so I added some decorations.
Please keep the area around the cache in the same condition (or better) that you found it in. I hope you enjoy this cache!

Congratulations to TexasWriter for being the First To Find!!
