This is one of five Team Schnauzer caches placed as a tribute to the nations of Scandinavia. Most of these caches should be pretty easy hides, though some of them will be more challenging than others. We hope you enjoy this series and enjoy the backroads of Story County!
Denmark proper is the smallest of the five Scandinavian nations, though if you include all of their territory (including the Faeroe Islands and Greenland) it is the largest. Denmark is the only one of the five nations that borders mainland Europe (shares a border with Germany). Denmark is one of the oldest monarchies in the world. It is believed that Denmark's banner (the Dannebrog or "cross flag") is the oldest known flag. At one point, all of present-day Norway and Sweden were part of the Danish monarchy. This explains why the Danish language is more or less a dialect of the other two in the family.
Stereotypes of the Danes - well, there are many. Danes eat nothing but sardines, open-faced sandwiches (where the term "smorgasbord" originates), ham and drink Carlsburg beer. Their nation is covered with farms and windmills and they ride bicycles everywhere. They spend all of their time at Tivoli Gardens, the Little Mermaid statue in Copenhagen harbor and read nothing but Hans Christian Andersen books to their children. They also make great butter cookies. Yeah, some of these are true, but in reality, Danish people are very family-oriented, very proud of their traditions and roots (from the Vikings to the Lutheran Church) and are extremely hard-working. They are also some of the tidiest people on the planet (Denmark was recently named one of the cleanest nations on earth).
This cache is located just west of the Askew Bridge Access area (not on county property). You're searching for a camo'd pill fob container. There should be a nice place to pull off on the north side of the road that will allow you easy access of the cache. You shouldn't need a TOTT for this one, though it might come in handy for kids or people that are short.
