We would love to get-together with fellow geocachers for a meet n greet event at Vega Lodge at 12:00 (Noon) : 67270 64 6/10 Road, Collbran, CO 81624. 970-487-3733
Come share geocaching stories and meet up with old friends and maybe meet some new ones, as well. Vega Lodge is now open year round and they offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Vega State Park is a fun place to stay for the weekend, also. Yes, there will be lots of snow. Enjoy it! They do plow the roads up to the lodge, so you shouldn't have any problems driving there. There are lots of fun things to do at Vega State Park. Go snowmobiling, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, ice fishing and of course, GEOCACHING! If you're not really a snow person, get a nice cup of hot chocolate and warm up by the fireplace in the lodge and enjoy the views. Don't forget to bring your cameras and warm clothing. We will have some cache containers and trackables to give away! Please log "will attend" if you plan on coming so that the lodge can be ready for us. A park pass is NOT required to come to the event at Vega Lodge, but it is recommended, if you plan on doing any caching or enjoying the park. Currently, there are only two caches in this area that you do not need a park pass to find, so it is highly recommended to get a park pass if you want to cache.
