Geocache Description:

St Peter's Loxton.

The congregation of Loxton Evangelic Lutheran Church began their worship in the home of John Drabsch in 1897 and Pastor L.E. Kuss made the two-day horse & buggy trip from Mannum every 3 months to conduct services.  In 1904 the first St. Peter's Church was built and is still used as a hall.
The manse was built in 1910 at a cost of 800 pounds and Pastor M. Kuss, son of Pastor L.E. Kuss, became the first resident minister.  Eventually the growing parish required a larger church and construction of the existing church began in 1925 using local limestone quarried by the congregation.
