Years ago, the Districts of Panem dared to rebel against their Capitol. They were soundly defeated. As penance for their treachery, every year, each of the twelve remaining Districts must now choose one male and one female by lottery to journey to the Capitol and be cast into the Arena. These 24 Tributes must battle to the death until only one remains, the lone victor bathed in riches for the rest of his or her life. This annual pageant of death and glory—live-streamed to the Districts and Capitol alike--would forever come to be known as:
In the 25th year of the Hunger Games, five decades before Katniss Everdeen was cast into the Arena, the Capitol thought to make the “First Quarter Quell” a special occasion. Instead of having the Tributes chosen by lottery, the Capitol has decreed that each District’s respective Tributes will be selected by vote. Just as the Districts chose to rebel against their Capitol, so they must now choose which of their children will pay the price for their treachery. The resulting group of outcasts and champions promise to make this Hunger Games the most entertaining in recent memory.
Under the lids of ten of the caches you’ll find numbers that replace the letter values of the final, but you’ll also need to print off the following list of 24 Tributes, 24 Locations, and 24 Manners of Death. In each of the 24 “regular” caches, you’ll find a clue that “kills off” a Tribute. Cross off the Tribute, Location, and Manner of Death and move on to the next cache. When you reach the end, you’ll know who won the First Quarter Quell, how they won, and where they won. You’ll need this information, along with the numbers that come after each correct answer, for the final.
After the initial bloodbath at the Cornucopia, the surviving Careers—Tributes from Districts 1, 2 and 4 who train for the Games their whole lives—have forged an alliance to hunt down the remaining Tributes . . .
District 8 Female: Iris
