Geocache Description:

Recently I headed down to scope out a few caches on the south side in/around Walkers Point.  I could not believe there was no cache dedicated to this prominent Milwaukee landmark, so I braved the chilly late evening weather and scoped out a spot to hide one.

You are looking for a standard, small cache (pill bottle camouflaged in black "Gorilla" tape) that should not be difficult to find with your keen geosense.   Please be careful to re-hide cache properly and beware of muggles.  GZ should be dead on... I used my smartphone's GPS then reconfirmed at home on Google Earth... both were the same.

Having lived, studied and worked in Milwaukee for seven years in the '90's--four of which were while attending Marquette--and returning 2-3+ times per month for work over the past 8 years, I have become a self-proclaimed wealth of knowledge on all things related to this fine city's geography, history, trivia, unique character, culture and architecture--a place I've always considered my home away from home.   Often, while sitting out rush hour traffic (outbound from Milwaukee then again inbound to Chicago), I often pass the time revisiting my old stomping grounds in and around Cream City.

After spending time at the oldest Catholic Church in the United States--built in the 15th century!!!--just a couple miles north/northwest of this cache (and also home to a cache) I ventured south/southeast to scope out some caches in/around the Walker's Point area... Incidentally, I HIGHLY recommend checking out GC3871Y

I was baffled that there was no cache specifically dedicated to this particular Milwaukee landmark.  So I spent the next two hours in the vicinity of it looking for a good place to hide one.  When I did not find a safe, suitable location where I had hoped, I expanded my area and found this particular vantage point.  A vantage point that you will likely not find in an edition of Fodor's or any other travel guide for that matter.  But a good view of the subject nonetheless.
