So my family usually indulges my favorite hobby (geocaching of course), but every once in a while my youngest gets a little exasperated with me. It usually involves me voicing my interest to do a little cache run (maybe to Iowa or Kansas) on the coming weekend, or it could involve me agreeing to a family trip because it gets me close (with 200 miles) of a particular cache that I'd like to get. At this point, he'll go on a bit of a rant saying,
"Dad you're obsessed with geocaching! Geocaching and Angry Birds--you ALWAYS play that on the iPhone when I'm having my music lesson!"
I usually counter with the following,
"OK, I admit I like to geocache, but there are a bunch of OTHER people WAY MORE obsessed with geocaching! I could probably count them on one hand! And Angry Birds--what else should I do in the middle of the lesson? Besides you are the one with Angry Birds Star Wars."
I really don't think that I'm too obsessed (is that an actual term?) with either geocaching or Angry Birds. Given a choice to pick between the two, I'd have to go with geocaching. Yes, there are at lease five other people out there that are more obsessed, but I'd have a REALLY tough time coming up with the five more on my other hand...
So the last time this came up (it has come up a few times already), I told him that I was going to really embarrass him and come up with an Angry Bird-themed geocache and then give him credit for it. Well, here it is! You have StinkyE to thank for it!
THE CHALLENGE:
1. Find 25 caches with either 'bird' or 'pig' or a specific breed of bird or pig in the title. You must include at least five pig-related cache names (guess people just favor birds).
2. Four of the 25 caches need to specifically mention one of the bird species in Angry Birds. You may only use a bird species once for this requirement. According to Birdchick.com (very helpful), the species are a cardinal, goldfinch, bluebird, chicken, myna, toucan, and eagle. There are others now including a bird that inflates like a balloon and a bird that makes bubbles, but I have no clue what those might be!
3. Create some sort of list for me to check and post it with the log (or link it to this page).
Special bonus points to anyone that can tell me what all the metal pipes in the ground are just NE of GZ. What are those things?
