Geocache Description:

eric&rebecca were gracious enough to allow me to adopt this cache. This cache was originally placed on 04/28/2007. If interested is seeing the original, the listing number was: GC12G5W
The history and picturesque setting of this cache makes for an awesome stop.
Seeing the cache has been muggled in the past, I decided to start out with a micro. It's not too difficult of a hide, so please put it back as found. Thanks!

Caryville Old Cemetery

Location: Caryville, Dunn County, Wisconsin

Correction: The proper name is "The Sand Hill Cemetery"

The Reputed Phenomena:
The graveyard was featured on Unsolved Mysteries a few years ago, and they were able to document the ghostly activities in the cemetery.
The ghosts of children have been observed running in the field next to the cemetery.
Some have reported seeing the ghosts of the children playing in the cemetery. The ghosts are even alleged to approach people and speak to them.
A tall, dark, shadowy figure has been seen in the graveyard. This could be "Blackie," the shadowy demon reported at both the Caryville schoolhouse and the Meridean boat landing.
Growling sounds have been reported and are believed to be the hellhounds.
Things usually happen in the graveyard after midnight and especially on Halloween.
Ouija boards go out of control in the cemetery.
The Dare: There is a neglected cemetery farther back in the woods. If you curse or spit on one of those graves, a boxer (i.e., a pugilist, not a dog) will appear.

The Investigation:

It is doubtful that the cemetery was ever featured on Unsolved Mysteries.
We were unable to locate a secondary cemetery in the woods, and the owner of the land denies its existence.
Investigators have not observed anything paranormal.

WARNING!
This community has had numerous problems with vandalism. Be aware that the cemetery is under constant surveillance.
VANDALS WILL BE SUBJECT TO ARREST AND PROSECUTION!

If you have any information that could lead to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for vandalizing the cemetery, please call the Dunn County Sheriff's Department (non-emergency): (715) 232-1564.

Marvin Saxton, town chairman gives permission for this placement.
