Lovers Leap
Lovers' Leap (sometimes spelled as Lovers Leap), is a toponym given to a number of locations of varying height, usually isolated, with the risk of a fatal fall and the possibility of a deliberate jump.
Legends of romantic tragedy are often associated with a Lovers' Leap.
From an unusual perspective, this is called "Lovers Leap" and is located off of US Route 522 near the US Silica Plant in Berkeley Springs, WV. This view is overlooking the Potomac River Valley with Maryland on the opposite side of the river. In the distance is Sideling Hill and the cut through of Interstate 68. Below is the old B&O Railroad and Grasshopper Hollow. NOTE: This view is on Private Property and NOT accessible.
The recently re-painted and re-stored marker had been missing for the past several years and has recently been replaced.
The slightly larger than a small cache you seek is hidden along the highway right of way. Please, Do Not venture past the yellow gate, it is Private Property.
Enjoying the local history should provide cover for your search
PARKING is Available OFF the Roadway in the gravel area. Please be cautious of little Ones along the Roadway.
