Geocache Description:

Here is another tricky one... Only the daring and adventurous cache seakers please!

This was created in recognition of my son reaching the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America. He is a member of Troop 594 of Maple Valley. He has always loved to climb trees and now you will too...or not.
The Eagle Scout Award requires years of dedication and hard work, in adition to 21 required merit badges, each scout must also complete a community service project. This project was proformed for the surrounding neighborhoods of Belmont woods and was related to water conservation and storm water run-off.

We are very proud to have two fine young men that have now reached this award, my other son became an Eagle Scout earlier this year and his project was building the kiosk at the GeorgeTown - Dansville Trailhead. You will see that project when you go for ' 594 Soaring Eagle - GC3Y3H'

An Eagles Nest... A bald eagle nest is a large structure, usually located high in a tall, live white pine tree near water. The nest is reused and added to (decorated) each year, often becoming eight or more feet deep, six feet across, and weighing hundreds of pounds. The shape of the eagle nest or aerie is determined mainly by the branch point where it's built. Sticks placed in tree forks result in cylindrical or conical shaped nests. Disk shaped nests are built on the ground or a tree branch which is nearly level. Bowl shaped nests occur where the tree trunk branches off into smaller upright branches. Bald eagles build their nests in large trees near rivers or coasts. A typical nest is around 5 feet in diameter. Eagles often use the same nest year after year. Over the years, some nests become enormous, as much as 9 feet in diameter, weighing two tons. Even when a nest tree falls or a strong wind blows a nest down, the established pair usually rebuilds at or near the site within a few weeks if it is near the breeding season. The nest may be built in a tree, on a cliff, or even on the ground if there are no other options available. Eagles are territorial during nesting season. They will keep other eagles out of their own nesting area. Their nesting territory is usually one to two square miles.

Please be very careful when attempting this find. Getting to ground zero is the easy part, signing the log will bring you to new heights! There is a security belt at the top, please use it to strap in. The branches are sappy at times, bring a pair of gloves with you.

**You have been warned, achieve this smiley on with care! The cache owner is not your momma and is not responsible for your safety. Please proceed with caution.

PS - The construction of the cache was human eagle not animal eagle made.

PPS - There is a Travel Bug attached to the cache box container. This Eagles Nest TB is to discovered and not taken, it is a copy of a very cool Boy Scout coin.
