CELEBRATING 100TH ANNIVERSARY:
The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County will be celebrating their 100th Anniversary in 2015. Starting in 2012, we are celebrating this significant milestone with a special geocaching challenge. Each year will include different geocaches hidden throughout forest preserves that the District established during different periods. 2012 celebrates the preserves purchased between 1915 and 1940. This year, we will have eight caches in forest preserves that opened between 1940 and 1965. Each cache contains a sticker featuring something you might see or do during a forest preserve visit. Once you have collected at least five different stickers, you can bring your passport to designated Forest Preserve Facility to collect your unique geocoin prize.
