Please post a "Will attend" and the number in your party so we can plan food accordingly.
This event will be for the evening meal, good conversation with other cachers with lots of general caching information, and tall tales about our caching hobbies.
Smoked, pulled pork BBQ sandwiches, baked beans, and potato salad are on the menu. Table service will be provided. Attendees are invited to bring chips, desserts, soft drinks/water, or any other food items that they like.
The picnic shelter provides a great view of the Mighty Mo and a paved walking trail passes by on the south; nice restrooms are nearby and a children's playground is only a few dozen feet away.
After the meal, door prizes will be awarded on a drawing basis. Some great prizes will be given, so be sure to stay for this portion of the event.
Following the meal and entertainment at Shelter #3, we plan a Night Cache Hunt at about 9:00pm. The plan is to hike to the south end of the Meridian Bridge (0.3 to 0.4 mile) on the Hiking Trail or travel by car to the parking lot that is south of the bridge. Here, we will enjoy a Night Cache Hike led by some of our intrepid local cachers. This should be lots of fun with only a few surprise twists and turns. Don't worry, to our knowledge, no one has ever been lost here, and we're only going for fun and a little exercise.
