Geocache Description:

Binder Park – Jefferson City, MO
Saturday April 20, 2013
8:30 a.m. to 12 noon

[Transmission Begins]

Attention all Mid-Missouri geocachers! A call to arms has been issued and your assistance is requested at the above coordinates!

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to team up with Jefferson City Parks and Recreation and your fellow geocachers in order to engage in a widespread cleanup of Binder Park. This is a large park that is used by a great number of people. Unfortunately, with a large number of visitors, that also means that there are greater numbers of people who would help to spoil the area by littering. It is this action that we will combat and why we assemble.

We will meet at the pavilion located at the listed coordinates at 8:30 a.m. Please park here. Before engaging in our maneuvers, there will be a briefing led by lazylightning. He will outline the specific goals of this mission, the scope of the mission's area, relay any safety information and answer any possible questions. After this is complete, we will enact our plan.

This exercise will occur rain or shine. Extreme weather conditions (very heavy rain, lightning, hail, etc.), however, would cause this mission to be scrapped.

Going into this battle requires supplies. We request each geocacher to wear clothes that can get dirty and sturdy shoes. Due to governmental budgetary surplus, gloves and trash bags will be provided by our sponsor Jefferson City Parks and Recreation.

At noon, following the completion of the stated mission, lazylightning has agreed to feed we intrepid geocachers as a reward for our service. At the pavilion there will be hotdogs, hamburgers, potato salad, baked beans and soda provided by our sponsor.

A request has been issued that participants list the number of people attending, so that a proper amount of food can be requisitioned.

As a further reward to those who answer this call, those attending CITO Events on April 20 or April 21 (or both!) will earn a special 2013 CITO Souvenir for their Geocaching profile.

There are rumors of new caches being published for loyal geocachers to find as well.

Command is hopeful that there will be a positive response from area geocachers to this call to action. This is a perfect time to say thanks to Jefferson City Parks and Recreation for their generous geocaching policy and also is a great way to give back and show respect for nature itself…the true board on which the geocaching game is played.

Thanks for helping to maintain the geocaching community's reputation one of the nicest groups of people out there!
