Geocache Description:

We love hiking through parks, nature trails, and wooded areas. We especially enjoy walking along or close to sources of water. Most maps we've looked at don't show the small stream that makes up the northern border of this dog park. You'll find this winter-friendly cache just off the trail near the water.

This cache is in a section of the park that is a bit less traveled. No need to cross the stream to find the cache. This cache was placed to coincide with the Second Greater Milwaukee Geo-Dog Social GC44A3D. It should be fairly easy to find in all seasons providing that the trees don't interfere with your GPS reception.

The cache is located in the 12-acre Granville Dog Park at the northwest intersection of Hwy 45 and Good Hope. Study the map before you hit the road because navigating the tangle of roads here is challenging, and many GPS automobile units will not navigate to the correct road on Fond Du Lac Ave to get there. There is a frontage road on the east side of the park that can only be approached from the north that comes to the parking lot.

Dogs are allowed off leash! However, be aware that the park is only partially fenced in. There is a fee for dogs to enter the park. It's $5/day or $25/year. There is a pay station at the entrance. Humans can enter free of charge and are not required to bring a dog.

Placed with permission, Milwaukee County Park Permit #259
